• Welcome

    I'm so excited you made it to my blog! This is where we can truly get to know each other better. I'm a writer by nature and sometimes I think the best way to get to know someone is through their words. Words can connect, move, and inspire people. They are very similar to photographs in that way. So wander around and get to know me better! I hope I can inspire you - just as each one of my clients has inspired me.

Fearless Fridays: Perspective {Tallahassee Photographer}

As I was writing this post, I realized that most of my posts talk about my family, and specifically my son. I started thinking that my readers may be tired of reading about Knox. I even considered re-writing this post. But at the end of the day I came to the conclusion that Knox is a part of me. And I am assuming that the reason people read my blog is to get to know ME; to understand who I am; to {hopefully} become my friend. So I kept the post as originally written. This is who I am. So grab your coffee and a comfy seat and read on. I hope you enjoy reading about my life – my son – as much as I enjoy speading the love that I have for him.

My perspective on life changed the moment Knox came into this world – probably before. Definitely before.

At one point in my life if I was sitting in a hospital bed, about to undergo surgery, I would have been consumed by fear. Fear for myself. But as I sat in that hospital bed on September 29 and was told I needed an emergency c-section because my liver could rupture, which would lead to death, the only thought I had was “Will my baby be OK?”

From that moment my life – my perspective – changed.

As I sat and rocked that beautiful baby to sleep last night I realized that. That my love for him is greater than any love I have ever felt.

One day Jeremy and I were having a conversation {about what, I have no clue} and I said “I love Knox more than anything – maybe even more than you.” As soon as I said it, I realized how horrible those words sounded. But – and this IS why I do love Jeremy so much – he understood.

His response?

“And you should.”

I guess both of our perspectives changed.

Please go share some love with my good friend Megan, owner and photographer with Megan Floyd.com. She’s such an incredibly talented person and I am so happy to have met her!
